did just vote for the first time.

To any readers on here who aren’t from Australia voting over here is compulsory for all Citizens over eighteen and tomorrow is election day. Now with the current prime minister, Kevin Rudd of the Labour party the country is not happy. The labour party has screwed many things up but i fear that if Abbott of the liberals gets into power the country will be screwed,  especially us little guys. The problem is, Abbot represents the so called ‘upper class’ and he will do all he can to keep them comfortable while the rest of us go broke. Last time the liberals where in power they sold all of our assets and unemployment went up, nobody had any money but the government was loaded. As an eighteen year old who is about to finish school and get tossed out into the real world, i feel like i have some hard times ahead

  1. A very astute assessment, you’ve summed it up well.

Regardless of who anyone votes for, there’s a damn good chance we’ll end up with a bunch of politicians in charge and, looking at the available talent, this is a major problem for Australia.

Australians have 3 year now to find good honest decent people with leadership qualities, and encourage them to run for parliament. If enough good ones get involved they will swamp the entrenched crud which currently controls both major party’s.

Maybe we need a coalition of independents, dunno !!

Maybe well just have to settle for a cold beer and leave it at that.

  2. I know exactly where you’re coming from. My brother just turned 18 two months ago and he’s facing the same difficult decision for tomorrow.
The definition people have for politicians really is, what it is I’m afraid.
All the best tomorrow and here’s hoping to positive results for our future 🙂

  3. cheers guys! are future may look a little bleak but honestly when was there a time where we were happy with out pollies? We are Aussies, we are tough and we will pull it together and survive! that’s how our country was built, by the citizens for the citizens, so why should we let some rich buggers wreck that? 🙂
